AMD EPYC Servers
The HPE DL385 G10 supports the latest generation AMD EPYC processors. With two processor sockets, each supporting up to 64 cores and 128 threads with the AMD EPYC 7742 processor, the HPE DL385 G10 achieves 128 cores and 256 threads.
The HPE DL385 G10 has 32 memory slots, 16 per processor, supporting up to 128GB 3200MHz memory modules, or 2TB total memory per processor. The AMD EPYC processors have 8 memory channels, so we recommend at least 8 memory modules per processor to occupy all memory channels for optimal performance.
The HPE DL385 G10 has multiple storage backplane options to suit any work environment. Select 12x LFF 3.5-inch SATA/SAS drives or 24x SFF 2.5-inch SATA/SAS drives if the goal is to maximize storage capacity. Select 20x SFF 2.5-inch NVMe drives if the goal is to maximize read/write speeds and achieve the highest performance. Or opt for the standard (and most common) 8x SFF 2.5-inch SATA/SAS drives if the server priority will be for CPU or RAM intensive applications.
The HPE DL385 G10 supports dual (redundant) power supplies - availabile in 500W, 800W, and 1600W. For single processor configurations, the 500W is fine. For dual processor configurations, we recommend the 800W power supply which is most common. For dual processor configurations with a lot of RAM and PCIe graphics cards, opt for the 1600W.
The HPE DL385 G10 is an ideal choice for CPU compute and CPU render applications.
